Retro Las Vegas AIR CORPS Gunnery School PT Shirt *Life Magazine Cover* Army Air Force Navy Nellis Creech

$16.00

Our RETRO Air Corps PT Shirt is a throwback to the one that was featured on the July 1942 cover of LIFE MAGAZINE. The original PT Shirt was created by Corporal Alexander Le Gerda, a soldier assigned to the Army Gunnery school just outside Las Vegas Nevada.

Le Gerda is the one pictured wearing his own design on the magazine cover. 80 Years Later, people look back on Le Gerda as the "father of the modern graphic tee", as this was the FIRST TIME such a shirt was featured on the cover of a magazine.

Le Gerda went on to become a Sergeant with the 94th Bomb Group during WWII, returned home, and lived out the rest of his days near his hometown in the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania. Alexander was born on April 24th, 1919 and passed away peacefully on August 3rd, 1998.

THIS IS OUR TRIBUTE TO THE FATHER OF THE MODERN GRAPHIC TEE WHO STARTED IT ALL... RIGHT HERE IN VEGAS!
